Here's how you can make delicious lava cake at home!

RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs + 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)
  • Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C). Grease 4 ramekins and dust them with cocoa powder.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Sift in the flour and salt, and mix until just combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly jiggly.
  • Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for 1-2 minutes, then carefully run a knife around the edges and invert onto plates.
  • Top with vanilla ice cream (optional) and serve immediately.
